That was what i was thinking maybe an American import, give the engine number to a honda dealer and they will tell you were it's from. My Xr400 is a 1999 model from Canada and that has a standard carb. Is the sensor wired up in the loom?
It's a Japanese model imported direct. I'm pretty sure the carb is stock or at least the same type as. The numbers match up and it looks too neat to be a graft on. The sensor is wired up to the loom and traces back to the Ignitor box.
