    Heated grips ...

    How hot is Hot ?

Just getting used to the heated grips, they certainly make the ride a little more comfortable, but I notice they dont get "that" hat.

It may be the fact the weather at present is in minus figures, with wind chill close to -10 -15 but even with the heated grips on max, my fingers still get cold !

I noticed that when I took my [whisper] BMW GS [/whisper] for a service last February, 120 miles of freezing M1 made the heated grips "not work" or at least they felt as if they weren't working!

I should imagine it's just the conditions.

    Cheers

Mine 2, way to hot and you can't dial it down like with the other ones. I end up flicking on off all day.

I have got the ordinair Oxford grips with the the variable control thing. Never had it past half - and that gets unbearabl hot in traffic - needs about sevnty plus to be tolerable. Think I'd gets burns if I had 'em on max.

Do you know what, this is me first post on this bit of the forum. I feel like an interloper

It's the conditions! Maybe I've missed something here but aren't these the 'conditions' the heated grips were designed for? I.e. winter,......cold,.....???

Not sure what brand mine are - they came with the bike when I bought it.

But they are roasting; have 2 turn then off after 10 mins on full. When on half, they 're crap, so it's 10 mins on..... 10 mins off.......

I've got the simple Oxford version - just on and off. Virtually useless if the temperature dips below about 8 degrees and you're on the motorway. Townriding it works up to about 2 degrees. Not impressed..

I have genuine Honda Grips and have to keep turning them down and sometimes off completely as they get very warm. Nice.
