    Oil Leak

Just discovered a small patch of oil inside the bashplate

Upon further inspection it appears there is a very small quantity of oil leaking where the crank case halves join at a bolt hole location.

The leak is no way serious enough to justify splitting the cases.

I have cleaned it all up, and shoved a bit of instant gasket in the bolt hole and on the bolt threads and given it an extra nip of white knuckle.

I shall have to see how it pans out - bit dissapointing on such a low mileage bike though.

Anybody else experienced this or have any neat fixes?

sounds like a one off to me and would say the fix you've done is the simplist and and cheapest solution so long as you didnt over do it with the silicone and push some inside the engine

Sure its not coming from the front sprocket and weeping down.
The only way to confirm is to clean the case with solvents and run it.

Checked that with double crossed fingers but life is never that simple is it!
