    MOT Pass!

Well, I dug her out of the back of the garage, brushed away the cobwebs and took her in for the pre-season MOT. Passed first time - not bad considering she ain't been used for a few months. All was peachy until........

......... major loss of power 5 mins after pulling out of the workshop. A quick u-turn for the mechanic to have a look and it seems i'm down to one cylinder! I'm no mechanic (my knowledge of engines is such that I know where to put the petrol and that's about it) but he's going to have a look before next weekend and sort it out. He guesses it may be a plug or the carb needs a strip down and clean (way above my 'Haynes one-spanner' expertise).

Has anyone else experienced this? Suggestions/recommendations? Bit hacked off that I had to get the bus home.........

    Yeah!

I left mine for three whole weeks and then rode down to the Hook hook-up, all the way down the M3 the bike felt sluggish

Once I stopped I noticed how tight the cables that supply the heated grips were. Turns (!) out that the grips are slipping around the bars and need an occasional tweek in the right direction!!

    YMMV!!

    Cheers

I used to get something similar, it was the low tension spade terminals on the front coil getting the road salt treatment. A scrape with a scalpel used to sort it.

At least yours starts. Looking forward to sailsbury plain next sunday, thought I had better dig the @ out, maybe even a wash.

Hit the starter and it hardly turned over Tried to bump start but no luck. I was a little over cautious as I dropped it last time.

Had to dig the road start out from the back of the garage, dont like to use it on the bike, bit like a sledgehammer to crack a walnut! But it fired up straight away, left it running to 20 mins and all seems well again.

I guess it was rebelling after being left in the cold garage for 3 weeks. I have also made a bench for the garage and been using the @ as a workmate!!

Needless to say we are barely on speaking terms and there was no wash!
