    Nice Rack!

I've a standard Honda Top Box fitted to my AT and it's fine. In fact it's great. Solid, does the job, easy to use etc etc. Just like the AT.

However, the good lady considers the forward slope of the box, caused by the angled rack, to something of a pain (quite literally). Thankfully the wife doesn't mind.......

    ....no seriously....

So, what I'm looking to do is substitute the standard rack / Top box config with a nice sturdy after market rack. This rack will defiantly need to have the ability to:

    1. Strap tailpack soft luggage / tents to it.
    2. Act as a upright back support for the pillion.

It would also be a bonus if the rack could:

    1. Support a topbox - be it aftermarket of he original Honda one.

    So.....
The question to you good people is....Do you know anything that fits the bill?

    Many thanks....
    Mark.

i'm sure that honda sell a back rest type pad thing (?) that goes on the top box which makes it more comfortable to lean against.

Thanks for that, however that only helps to push the pillion sitting position forward. I'm not looking to pad the box, but instead lesser the lean angle of the box to be more towards the vertical - rather than leaning into the bike.

    Does that make sense?

Yeah, makes sense...I'm sure one of these Metal Wrangling chaps with a welder in one hand and a pint int'other could fashion something akin to your requirements in a flash. Not me though. Soz!

That's the one, spot on. Thanks Simon.

What did you use for the two supports? Any other bits hidden from view in the picture?

I quite simply got two lengths of aluminium and counter bored 3 holes to hold it to the bike and then drilled and taped 3 more for the black rack to fit to. I think i made the rails about 400mm long. This allows plenty of room even with a back rest which is what i need to find now that i have room for it. If you need any more pictures i can take some for you.

Thanks for the offer, but I think that's all I'll need. Cheers again Simon.
