    Servicing

just working my way through servicing the AT and i noticed whilst checking the coolant drain hole (ie hole that shows you got problems)
Well, i've got a drip and some signs of coolant from this orifice! My aT has only done 8,000 miles. if i go by the manual it is a new pump ie; £87 + p&p. Is this the norm, cos i intend to ignore it.

I think i bought i real nail with this bike. only done 250 miles on it and iam on new chain and sprockets, new rectifier.

    No its not the norm.
I'be never touched my coolant in 32K miles.

I can't understand that by having a drip of coolant at a drain hole you need a new pump though. Don't you just need a new washer or whatever on the drain plug?

New chain and sprockets on an 8K bike isn't unknown as mine had two sets in 12K until I changed to the DID X Ring premium, now on 32K and going strong.

apparently there are 2 seals which keep the oil and water from mixing. the engine side is a simple oil seal change, the water pump side is a new pump. if either leaks, then to stop them mixing there is a drain hole in between the 2 seals and this hole is visible under the engine and the fluid oil or water will drip here.
