    Indicator relay suggestions

After a recent temporary WD40 dip and silicon sealing the indicator relay seems to have packed up beyond hope. The socket seems "uncar-like" so little hope for a cheap & easy replacement. The AT probably has 10 Watt bulbs anyway rather than 21 Watt in car indicators so timing would be wrong anyway. I guess the genuine Honda one costs a small fortune?
    Thanks for any tips

Bulbs are the same as car indicator bulbs(21 watt). Normal crimp on female spade terminals will fit any relay. It would be good to know what car relays would do the trick if you do find out.

    Thanks for that

I bought a relay from my local car-breaker for 2 quid 50 pence (new ones will set you back around 10 quid). It's an "Intermotor" part no 58900 that was taken of a recent (but rather unfortunate) Vauxhall, but I suppose any 12 V relay for 21 Watt indicator bulbs will do.

I cut off the original Honda connector and soldered "female" spade terminals at the ends of the 3 wires as suggested and connected them on the 3 pins of the relay (the middle wire of the Honda connector also goes on the middle pin of the relay). I tie-wrapped the relay and wiring inside a piece of old bycycle inner-tube to make it fully weather proof, and tie-wrapped to whole solution onto the top-fairing bracket.

    Better than new

I am all ready for the next thing to break

Good news. I'm going to sticky this until we get the top tips bit of the site set up.

I did pretty much the same, but paid £11 or so at Halfords. Still going strong. Why did Honda leave the thing open to the elements and salt??

    Re: Indicator relay suggestions

    Noticed
Ive been on the road all but twice and have noticed that the lighting arrangments are a little on the dull side(warning lights and instrument panel )not as bright as could be . Hence i poped off to the WC at lunch time with a copy of the Maplin shed head digest. Im putting this idea out for feed back . How about replacing all the existing filament bulbs with LED'S fixed to revelant connectors . Not beams but every thing else , seems that they are available and would have a longer working life with less pull on the mains .

Speedo problem recon on gear in wheel will pop of front wheel later in the month when Im able to bring the bike home - am I the only person in the world with loving wife problems?
