Ah, after 23 years riding bikes and always having to do my own mechanics out of downright impercunity Id hoped Id be able to afford to pay someone else to do it by now. Or at least afford newer bikes. But would I trust anyone else?? Nah...

    Good work Doctor! Well done.
Can you imagine how much that would have cost at a main dealer!??

Spend cash saved at once on bike parts/beer/lap dances.

That's the engine I was talking about. It's from an Italian import. The vendor says it's from a 1993 bike but states it's an RD04 - must be talking about the engine number I would have thought. Anyway, there's no throttle position sensor on the carbs, so it would have to be an early one. I'm wondering if the gold cases are something the Italian market got and we didn't...?

I've also been offered a 1998 engine with 8200 miles on it and a three month warranty up at MT Motorcycles at Doncaster - not sure how much they want for it yet.

Calipers are maybe more of a problem at the moment - even more dust seal showing now - the alloy has the consistency of bread!

Just checked, under the dirt on my RD03 there be gold buried, the barrels in the pic look longer though and since the RD04 is a stroked RD03 it would make sense for it to be an RD04.
