    cracked plastic :-(

    I've just discovered some nasty not so little cracks

    The two screws under the headlight cowl (RD07) that screw the side panel to the front cowl have got cracks running vertically upwards from them towards the headlights.

    I have not noticed these before and the bike is (nearly) new so all I can guess is;

    either now that the new bike soft focus has faded and I am starting to see all the little bits IN focus, and the guy who owned it previously overtightened them like a plonker,

    or it has recently occured. I wound the old girl up properly for the first time last night and noticed that with the powerbronze screen being so tall you get a bit of vib and flex of the fairings in general. I don't think that should have caused it but has anyone else experienced anything similar?

    and has anyone had any experience with those plastic welding kits? Do they work and if so how hard are they to use (make a mess with!!)

    any help or advise appreciated

    Years ago i had a gsx600 , which had loads of cracks in the plastic panels, anyhow i was told about a local plastic fabricating firm that worked out of one of those small units that seem to be everywhere.
    They ran a line of plastic weld at the back of each crack and the bodywork was as strong as new, and they only charged £20 .

    Worth seeing if there's anything similar local.
