Don't think you'll have any problems, we have our fair share of giants here. I'm 6ft and mine is fine...

I don't think height would be an issue as there is a few freaks on here who's like 6'7" and taller Not sure how it would compare to the Varadero as I am a mere 5'11" midget myself

Being a normal 6'5" myself, the AT has always been the bike for me. Are there any easy and relatively cheap ways of making the seat height higher ?

Hi there, an @T at that age would possibly be an RD04, I found it tall but I'm only 5'10". But still loved it to bits, best @T I owned in fact.

In comparison to the Varadero? Well, the @T is more suited to offroad but apart from lacking the power of the Vara it's still a very worthy tourer, breathless above 80mph, but ample for most. The seat can be hard, most people have modified there's one way or another. I've done over 100,000 miles on @T's and never had any bother with them, solid, reliable and full of character.

The Varadero is a brilliant tourer, the link brakes, although a hinderance offroad, are brilliant on tar. The seat is superior to the @T and the extra power is immense for touring on fast roads, happily 100mph+ all day. Offroad I found it a bit lardy and the link brakes a pain.

For a classic bike to run I would go for an RD04 model @T, 1990 to around 93, instant classic with rugged good looks and Honda build quality. Poor areas to look for, rust to frame, welded areas were badly affected by rust, wheel bearings at that age but easily replaced, chocolate brake calipers so check for binding and warped discs. Wheels were poor, the alloy rotted from the inside out, check around spokes for corrosion.

    Hope this helps mate.

Thanks for the info, esp.welds and rims.Have also heard the final drive shaft gets cheesed by the front sprocket.....great fun
Are all 750 engines basically the same for spares?(Optimist!)
Suggestion for instant seat height/comfort improvement - the Allyn Air Seat.Just done a trip on a VFR and had a happy arse all the time
    Cheers,L.
