Have you thought of using steelweld putty for time being whilst you look for another casing? Should be ok untill you can replace the current one. I have seen bikes/cars that has done thousands of miles with cracked sumps and casings fixed with JB/Pratley steelweld.

Or...Can you take the cover off and Araldite over the crack inside and out?

JB Weld will do it - you'll have to take the casing off though. I repaired a 4 mm diametre hole in my rad with the stuff early this year - still going strong....

Yes i will do a quick repair for now and ride this season out and change the casing when the snow falls over my part of sweden, it´s just boring after all time spent in the garage and finally thinking you are done and all of a sudden i´m back with the tools again.

I´m going to visit my local honda dealer today and ask for a chair and a glass of water before he tells me the price of the casing

Keep an eye on ebay for bikes being stripped down. Alternatively you could try bike breakers, I have never used them myself but normally people find all sorts of spares at these places for very little money.
