    Suspension advice

I noticed the other day when I had my panniers loaded up with laptops and the like that the front end of my bike went a bit light.

Now I know the previous owner had WP springs fitted to the front end and at one point had an Ohlins shock fitted.

Other than taking less stuff and losing weight, can anyone think of a way to reduce the risk of this?

Unless you run about with loads on all the time, no. The only adjustment would be a heavier spring but this would affect the bike permanently. I'm still not convinced that would help any way as the weight is all on the tail of the bike and will make the nose lighter in any case.

If it's just the occasional heavy load just enjoy the fact that the bike will wheelie off the throttle

I thought it'd be something like this. The idea of fitting an Ohlins type shock did occur until I saw the prices.

I guess it's slim down the luggage and slim down me time then!

you could try getting a tank bag - that would move the weight forward (but up!)

Hi, You need to adjust the preload on your rear suspension to suit the load you are carrying, had the same problem whilst on the back of a mates Triumph Tiger the other week. He ended up increasing the preload by 3 clicks on the rear damper & solved problem straight away.

At the moment your preload is too low for the load you are carrying & effectively lowering the rear end too much & unbalnacing the weight distribution. Simple really.
