The standard Honda backbox comes back too far in towards the seat for two normal sized people to be comfy.
You'd have thought you can use two lengths of metal to increase the distance between box and pillion...and you can.![]()
Much, much more roomy.

I don't know - it felt different but I also fitted handlebar risers and had my Dad on the bike who admitted he was leaning into corners too much.Originally Posted by Lord Vader
I would say as a vaguley educated guess, no, or very little.
I sold my Honda luggage as I had a set of Nonfango boxes already. I always mounted the Nonfango carrier as far back as possible. I would have kept the stock Honda boxes but found the same, they restricted the seating area.
I never found any difference in handling compared to the stock box.
Thanks for that - at least I know for certain now!
i did the same with my @ and cant say i noticed any adverse affectsOriginally Posted by chronyx

It doesn't affect the carrier either does it? Don't want to snap it - although no dount the 10kg Honda limit is way under specced!Originally Posted by Chad

I found the biggest issue with a Givi box was the original angle of the rack....it tipped the top/hinged part of the box forward and so pushed the pillion forward too. I packed the front of the adaptor plate to 'level' it and this gave another 30mm or so in the lower back of the pillion.
