I always used Bridgestone Trialwings on mine, found them safe in the wet, I reckon 5000 to 8000 depending on how desparate you ride!

Possibly trial wings could be scarce to find now, you might have a look at Bridgestone Battle wings as I believe they're replacing them?

Depends on what you expect from the tyre, if you only ride in the dry Tourances give good milage but I found them skittish in the wet.

I've just fitted a pair of Conti Escapes to mine ,seem fine on dry roads, don't know what their like on wet roads because of dry weather at present.

I have had some butt clenching moment with Trailwings on dry and wet, they are the Devil's work

Road tyres would personally go for Metzeller Tourances, good mileage out of them and done some 40k odd miles with previous bikes with no problems.

I have Avon Distanzia (second pair now) and really like them. They last longer than the Trailwings and have more grip (esp in the wet). They are also more quiet than the Trailwings, esp noticeable on the motorway.
I guess they're not the "latest & hottest" offering in bike-land but neither is the AT and they are cheaper than the Tourances, which are also good but imho not as "fantastic" as many claim. The Silica based Pirelli MT90 Scorpion seem interesting as well, I may try them next time if they are not too expensive.

You could even fit "normal" road tyres, I believe the Bridgstone BT45, Metzeler Lasertecs and some Avon and Conti models come in 21" front-sizes. They should last and grip even better, provided you can live with the "not-so-cool-looking" tyre profiles

Just noticed my front Anakee is atarting to look worn after only 2,000 miles (ish), still looks like it will make 4-5,000 before it wears out, but the rear looks hardly worn at all, shouldn't it be the other way round?
