    whats that coming over the hill . . . . . .

I took my AT offroad for the first real time the other night and had a ball!

OK so it was only the local waste ground/fields where everyone with a motocrosser around our way goes, but it is full of hills and drops and berms and rutted tracks etc

    well

after getting the hang of the thing being so heavy and not trying to bully it around like i do with my mountain bike i had a great laugh.

bombing around letting the suspension and my legs soak up the bumps blasting up hills and edging gingerly down the drops (eventually just learnt to trust the bike and get off the brake!)

    what a laugh!

surprised the hell out of group of youths on motocross bikes who were all sat chatting at the top of a whopping great hill, their jaws didn't half drop open when they saw me arrive next to them on a dirty great AT !!!

    these bikes are great!

    off road kicks butt!

cherry - jeeaysus - i nearly lost the contents of me bowels when i overdid it on an up-slope and the bugger took off at the top!!!!!!!!!!!!

luckily it landed itself on the flat bit and as i had come off the gas it stopped pretty pronto!

good job these ATs have autolanding capabilities!

(quick check around to make sure no one saw me sh*t my whack - and off i went! slightly more carefully!!)

    See what you've done now!

I must be the only pansy-ass left on this forum that hasn't encountered enough mud to fill my tread up!

OK, so now I'm on a mission, and as soon as I've bought some decent rubber (the bike is running on it's original factory tyres that are now completely shot) I wanna lose my cherry to. Even if it is just to stop the Chad'ster giving me a rough time.

    So, TKC80 time then!!

Where's the most up to date "Best Buy" place???

    Very good off-roader

I must say , we lived in Botswana , Africa . Myself and at least 4 other friends would go ride in the bush . Along riverbeds and in the desert . Man this bike rocks .

I weigh 125 kg and riding with the stock suspension , with Michelin T-66 and regular tyre pressure . I clocked it at 150 km/h , and that is in twisty 4x4 tracks . Not flat open stretches.

My bike is currently semi apart and I am awaiting for some bearings from South Africa . She has been good to me , and want to rebuild her to better than new .

Not taken the AT off-road (yet), but lost my off-road cherry 30 odd years ago with an XL125, even took my CB750K7 down the fields once and through the river Bollin for a laugh
as soon as i come off our side street there's a speed ramp which is enough to get the AT airborne (just), no better way to start the day
