Maybe he's just very short and that bike is actually a minimoto!!

I think the human in the photo is a bit "vertically challenged." The photo is, I think, from the Buano site in Italy.

I agree the bike is amazing. I'd love to ride it.

If I remember correctly Gaston Rahier rode the wheels off one of these beasts in the past Dakar Rally....and he was just a wee feller. That may even be him in the photo. I'm not smart enough to know since the only times I ever saw photos of the man was in helmet and riding gear.

its definatly a replica as the frame is wrong for a NXR, and i dont think its a HRC marathon build bike either as it to far converted from factory spec...

This is HRC marathon spec bike ( this is 120% factory origional with no mods and is exactly how it left the workshops at HRC!.. Its owned by a journo in Belfast and is stunning )

back end is an african queens enduro conversion:
    africa queens /xrv enduro

Rear tank and side pannels (or hectank) also african queens:

and the main tank looks like a version of the GFK 45/53 tank Stephan Jaspers has on his old XRV.(rd07)

its a really nice conversion, but think the guy is a total short arse and it makes the bike look way bigger than it is!

Ladder 106 there is a picture somewhere of Gaston Rahier on the '92 dakar (i think ) of him on the monster DR800s (the origional custard coloured bike...) being held up by two mechanics at the start line as both his feet could never touch the ground at once thanks to its 36" seat height and nim being only just over 5'

That is an awesome looking bike!!

I'm with Jenna, and pretty sure it's a pimped RD03, however it definitely looks the part, and I'd have it tomorrow.

Incidentally, Jenna, what is the difference between an RD03 and a RD03 Marathon bike?? Just curious, it's the first time I've heard about it.
