16000 mile service coming up Should i ....

I will have to do my 16k service soon.
So the question is Is it worth it to bring the bike to a garage to do this just to get their stamp? and pay a lot of money for work i'm not sure was done?
I had a look and the 16k is a minor one so i'm sure with some help i could do that myself and learn something at the same time.
But i would miss the stamp in my service history
I am not planning to sell my @ for at least 4-5 years so how important will the missing stamp than be?
    What do you guys think?
They call him "Ze Quiet one"
I listen to what the rice crispies tell me to do

What does it involve? I'd be happy to show you how to do an oil change if that's all it is. It probably means valve clearances too though.

Spark plugs are best done with the tank off, makes it so much easier.

Wouldn't bother do it yourself whenever I buy a bike if it sounds and rides ok then thats all you can go on.
And to be honest for what is required for the service its easier and cheaper to do it yourself just watch the litle pipes under the tank forget were mine went first time I pulled it off

And living proof is my vn1500 with excess pressure in crank full service history has meant nothing there

Lord Vader, i will let you into a little secret. I was in the car game for years, and was actually according to the DVLA the first person to bring into this country Japaneese Imports we were selling up to 50 cars a month. After 3 years of age a SERVICE HISTORY makes ZERO difference TO THE VALUE OF ANY VEHICLE outside of a BMW or MERCEDES that is likely to be PX and resold in the dealership. It is just a marketing game played by the manufacturers to give revenue to the dealer. An average mass manufacturer dealer will make about £200 to £300 on a new car, thats all by the time he has discounted they need revenue from your PX, or parts and accesories and dealer servicing to pay all the overheads. Now that we have all these stealth taxes from Crash Gordon !!!!!

I would not waste my time, money or effort to bring it to a dealer, do it yourself have the piece of mind that it was done right and cheaply
