    Hello from @ Newbie

Hi, just got my first @. Been after one for years its a 96 p reg(quite old i Know) but only has 15000 miles on. Any advice would be great. I am 5' 11'' which means that I have a bit of a stretch for the floor(inbetween tiptoes and ball of foot).paid 2499 from a dealer (traded in the missus's 125 cos she's pregnant ans 1000 cash). full mot and service. Bit pricey i know but the 125 was a spanish import(i used to live in Spain) and saved me the arse ache of having to sell it. my history of bikes so far is suzuki ts100er, suzuki vl125 intruder, honda deauville, and a BMW F650. one main question is can the bike be lowered, I am happy as it is but an inch lower would be perfect. cheers for any advice in advance.

you could quite easily have the seat modified to suit your needs losing an inch of would be no problem , and would save any hassle and potential to ruin the bikes handling

you will find plenty of info in the links section and some other members will be along shortly to tell you what mods they've made to there seats

welcome aboard dude enjoy the site they are a good crowd here

Undo the 4 crosshead screws in the plastic cover, lift it off and that is the airfilter, just lift it out to change it.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Welcome aboard, I recently joined after also picking up a very nice 96' on a P plate. Got it a couple of weeks ago after looking for months.

    What colour did you get?

Heres mine in a very nice grey colour scheme with my daughter at the helm.

One thing to check when you change the tyres, are the insides of the rims. My rear is quite badly corroded around the valve hole even though the outside looks fine.

Enjoy the ride & the wealth of knowledge to be gleaned from the members of this site.
