    Power of the press

Met a mate last night who had bought an @ on the strength of the article in MCN a while back. He's chuffed to bits with it and says he has hardly touched his sports bike since. Told him to sign up to this site.

This is great news. There has been a steady stream of new users. It would be interesting to hear from any others members who got an AT on the strengh of that article.

It's good to hear this, although I wonder how many more ATs there would have been if the bhp-hungry UK bike-press had never published anything about our favourite machines

That article had a lot to do with me returning to @ ownership I had sold @ and bought K100lt but found everything to do with BM's pretty boring I kept reading old road tests (Bike 1996 among others) that I have in the house and every time I read them I realised what I was missing. I knew that the boy I sold mine to was going back packing to South America so got in touch with him and bought it back, happy again.
I don't know if anyone else still has the roadtest that Bike done in 1996 but they took the @ along with a BM GS, Cagiva and a Tiger to Ireland for a few days touring and their final conclusion was that the BM and @ were best two bikes by far and the @ just shaded it over BM.( The bike they tested was a silver one like mine and everyone knows they are the slowest but it still done well)
