I managed to stick 120,000 on one engine without any problems (apart from a clutch and a couple of oil seals) and it still runs fine, just the bits connected to it seem to fail ! (me most of the time!!!! )

That was my second engine, first one went pop at 45,000 as the oil cooler pipe came adrift.
as long as you keep the oil fresh and dont let it run out i dont think you could do much to ruin an africa lump.......
i rode mine 180 miles home once running as a single as one of the coils had died, and even that did not seem to worry it.

I also managed to put 55,000 miles on a CBR600 in 9 months with no problems (apart from bloody tyres going bald!) i think if you keep Honda's serviced they will run on and on....... only ever had one bad Honda (CB125T what a pile of poo......).

The CB125T was just before that, was a 125 twin short stroke (red line was 12,000 RPM!!) went like stink but just kept ripping piston rings off, i used to carry a spare set with me and change them in the side of the road !
