Monday I came back from a long weekend in France where the weather was crap but the roads and food were great. There's no good way north from Poole so you're pretty much forced to take the A350, a route that's not so bad, even pretty, if you're not in a hurry but blooy tedious if you just want to get home. It must have the record for roundabouts in Britain and it winds through every little podunk village possible. End result is that you're constantly shifting up and down for 2 hours.
So, after an hour and half of this I noticed some clutch rattle, especially in the lower gears every time I began to shift up and accelerate from one of the many slow areas. This got progressively worse. However, after I crosed the M4 and got on the A429 where one can ride at a steady speed for longer, t seemed to clear up.
My daft question is: can the clutch plate got hot through sustained use and produce this knocking noise?
