Well, if it is from there, then maybe it's probably 2 things, either the clamp needs replacing because it's loose, or the hose is old and is starting to perish. Both of those are easily done.

Actually, there is another option.. the outlet from the tank is leaking.

Most probably the pipe getting old. It's happened to me a few times, especially when the temperature drops and the rubber gets colder over night, this leads to a smell of fuel in the morning and little petrol/ice crystals around the pipe jont.

Take off the piece in question, take it to a bike shop to make sure you get the right internal diameter. Ask for a few metres of the same size off a roll (you will replace all the pieces eventually), cut a piece to match the bit you took off and store what's left carefully (you don't want dirt or spiders inside it when you come to use it.)

Yenny's Top Tip- Don't put the tank on and then try and force a new piece of pipe onto the fuel tap with no leverage and 2 fingers. Push it on and off a few times whilst the tank is off and you can use a bit more muscle, then when you refit the tank it won't be so difficult.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Well you could always struggle with the tank still on I suppose.
It's still possible to replace the pipe this way.

It's much easier than you think. Three fixings only and some pipes to disconnect.

Set aside all day tomorrow to have a go,i'm not sure if it is the pipe leaving the fueltap i think it is the one going into it from the tank maybe
Will certainly take pics and some clever person on here can put it in wiki
