what bagster tank bag is everyone using?

    Hi,

After acquiring my lovely tank cover from Richie (thanks mate!) I am gonna have to go out and buy a tank bag.

Can anyone recommend a bag - one that preferably doesn't hit the horn or indicators on full lock I have heard the gamma and dzeta are good.

I might actually have to put the cover on the bike now. I am too scared some **** is gonna nick it if I park up in London.

    Cheers,

    Paul

Hi, I don't know the names but the ones you mention do sound familiar.

I sold my last Africa with the tankbag and assumed a Baglux trail bag was a Baglux trail bag. They're not

The last one I had came with a small pouch on the end nearest to the rider that fastened with a small clasp. It fit the bike perfectly with hardly any interference on the bars.

My new one looked the same but it overhangs towards the rider about 5/6 inches. This interferes with my gut when I'm on the bike and I end up flattening it. This newer bag has a zip on the riders end of the bag.

As I said, I don't know the names but, try and have a look at the fitment b4 you buy as it's such a pain, I just use my topbox

I live in France and by far the most common marque here is "Bagster". I have the tank cover and bag.

    http://www.bagster.com/en/moto/catal...p?id_moto=2517

Sorry, but the sites in French, if need be I can translate anything that might interest you.

    Advantage:
    * Follows the colours, look, decals of the bike.
    * Integrated waterproof covers that is stored inside and under the tank bag itself.
    * Lots of pockets.
    * Off bike carrying, includes shoulder strap/handle.

    Disadvantages :
    * Full lock creates a problem with the horn, fulll beam switch. ops
    * Both of the lower tank bag clips are poorly designed in the manner that they are attached to the Tank Bag itself..
    * The lower tank bag clips are difficult to clip onto the tank cover.
    * The lower clips "unclip" themselves sometimes whilst riding.
    * When the bag is full, it does obstruct your stomach and I don't have a beergut, It forces you to adopt a slightly different riding position, although it is not really a big problem and also gives you the advantage of resting your beergut somewhere when you are tired.

If need be I can post some photos.

    Cheers Roy

I have the dzeta (or whatever it is called). It is a year old and I used it about ten times but I think it's too big. You can fit a full face lid in it and I never need that much stuff in a tank bag. So, if you have the Bagster tank cover and youwant the big tank bag, make me an offer. It is in immaculate condition.

i use the wee trail one as i didn't want something too big. Its small enough to not get in the way when i'm standing up off-road. I've got a picture if you want.

    Roy,
Strange that, I just looked at the site and they don't have the same tank bag that I have anywhere there. I have plain black tank bag (which actually matches my top box and panniers scheme) with the 2 hook clips up the top and the 2 snap in ones at the bottom. My tank bag is much smaller than the ones shown, hence I have no lock or switch probs when turning etc. It also came with a small separate waterproof cover, which looks like a heavy duty ladies shower cap. They're both definitely bagster, made in France, as the labels say and as they cost about an arm and a leg, I'd say they were genuine too.
My bottom attachers don't come off as easily as yours which is a bit of a pain in gas stations, when trying to refuel. However, the clear plastic top pocket which can accomodate a map is useful. Overall, I like the system even it doesn't hold much, especially over rough terrain roads here, the wee bag doesn't move at all. Had a set of Chase Harper cr@p before, which caused considerable butt puckering when fully loaded and deciding to fall either left or right at high speed, over bumps or up hill!

    Simon,
Yep that's the same as mine. Good wee bag, bit expensive though over here!
