    service

    Got service done last week what a job to do tappets but much bad language latter all done. Bike felt like new smother,pulling stronger,great. So went for a run today and as usual my enthusiasm was more than my ability so i now have a very large dent in my once pristine sump gaurd would post photo if i new how.

    The sump guard is really soft alu so a few light hits with a ballpein hammer will sort it again...don't ask how I know this

    That's exactly what I said to Tony as he lay effing and blinding amongst the boulders after catapulting over the handlebars. That and ' It's traditional to use the brakes to come to a rapid stop, not the local quarry contents mate!'.

    Luckily there is really tough engine behind it protecting the guard against even deeper dents

    I had a look under mine for the first time. There's a hole(impact site) about 3" in diameter underneath. A reminder of just how hard and sharp some of the contents of our "graded", coral roads can be. Suppose I'll have to take it off and get it beaten out next time. Thank you Mr Honda for the sump guard!
