    Ignition

Just wondering has anyone had this problem.Turn on ignition but no joy.Twiddle the key back a fraction and the powers back on.It can cause the trip computer to go to 888 mode also.Disconnecting the battery sorts this though. The ignition works but will it cut on in a corner?will it give up a long way from home?.Taking the ignition barrel looks a right dose.Any thoughts appreciated.

Sounds like a dodgy ignition switch - it is turned by the lock barrel as you turn the key. A strip and clean may sort it for a while - you might also knacker it completely as it flys apart as you strip it and you loose the springs and stuff...

Cant understand why disconnecting the battery sorts it out - is the ignition relay controled? or is it just c a coinky-?....

    Check the following connections also.

The green connector on the top of the starter solenoid.
The master fuse, and its connections, beneath the green connector.
The main feed from the battery to the starter solenoid. Check the leads on the battery, and at the solenoid, and at the starter motor.
In particular, check all the earth connections.

With all of these, it could be a bit of moisture in there turning the connectors dirty or green even. Clean 'em up and use a bit of WD40.

    Good Luck
