    Brake pads

What is the most popular brand of brake pads ?

The costs seem to vary quite a bit, just wondering if this reflects the usage eg is there a touring pad or an off road pad ?

Was just going to strip mine at the weekend and read with horror the threads of the obtrusive blanking plug on the caliper. And guess what, both my front caliper plugs are apparently welded on !!!!!!

Honda OE for me everytime! Get around 25,000 miles from a front set and over 30,000 from rear set. Some of the other pads are cheaper and probably harder compound which then wears the discs. Somebody will be along in a moment to disagree with me

Yep Honda OE for me to.

I remember years back at the Isle of Man TT Honda were having braking problems with the RC30 and tried all makes of pads. They went back to OE pads and problem solved.

i have tried Carbon Loranie ones form Hein Gericke but at £20 a pair they are not cheap. Now i just get £8 ones from WEMOTO and they seem ok. I dont get EBC as they fall apart!

I've had no problems so far. just wish their postage was cheaper as £5 each time is a bit steep!

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help. Managed to get my blanking plugs out eventually. Soaked with WD40 for a couple of nights, a VERY light heat, on-off for about half an hour, a severe thwack with an impact driver and Bob's you're auntie !!!!!
