    Touratech pannier frames..........

Since getting a set of Zega boxes for Christmas, I figured I should get around to putting the pannier frames onto the @.

When I had them on last time I seem to remember that it isn't possible to remove the side panels from the bike with the pannier frames in place.

Is this correct or have I just not mounted them correctly

It will be a real pain if this is the case, as I have my scottoiler resovoir under the left hand panel (which needs refilling every once in a while)

Has anyone else come across this? And if so, is there a workaround or 'special' way of removing side panels, when the pannier frames are fixed?

You are correct! .. and it's a PITA

I got round the problem by putting the high capacity reservoir on the scottoiler, which mounts under the number plate.

You can get the RH panel off OK but not the LH one. I remounted my Scottoiler under the seat in the well behind the battery and drilled a hole in the bottom of the well for the feed tube. I've had no problems with it

The side panels come off no problem on my '98 AT with Touratech racks.
Left one is a bit fiddley...but you don't have to remove the racks. You do have to remove the box though.
Your installation should be no different than mine. Keep playing with it and you will find the right monkey motion to clear the racks.
