    Its a good plan forgetting about bead blasting, I don't like the idea of tiny glass particles near an engine.
    Also Powdercoating is a bit overrated, looks a bit thick and I have heard negative reports of it affecting heat treated alloys.
    I see nothing wrong with good quality rattle can paint jobs, Techcote has some very good paints for engine and frame.

    there was someone in the usa selling did rims there was a link on hear somewhere . they were not mad expensive either .

    cheers, dunno how I didnt see that.. but I found one on ebay.de german bike breakers... 81 euro almost perfect nick from the picture, off a transalp..
    they seem to have some nice bits and bobs.. and postage is very reasonable

    he even has a couple of frames with papers for sale..
