Renthal Dakar High bars vs Standard AT bars

I'm thinking of getting the Renthal Dakar High bars. Could anybody tell me if they are the same hight (or preferably higher) as the standard AT bars please.

    Thanks

Lootch, I'm not sure about the sizes, but this may help....

When I bent my bars in the summer, I contacted the Renthal distributer in LA, queering whether I could get hold of the Dakar High bars in the States. The answer was no (Europe only), but then they cross referenced the Daker High bar sizes with all their other bars and found one that matched - an ATV bar. Excellent service.

So, once you get the info on the Dakar High Bars, Renthal might be able to find something else for you, if you're looking for shorter, wider, higher than the dakar.

Have a look at this link

Got the sizes for the Dakar bars, also have a look athe B&C web site as you can get the dimensions for the bars there.

I have had Renthals on several traillies (Yamaha XT, RD03 and BMW GS) and never liked the straightness of the bar-ends: It's almost like being crucified while you ride . They looked great of course, great quality for a relatively low price and I suppose the shape of the handlebars make sense when riding off-road.

Depending how wide you want the bars, Renthal do some very high, but narrow bars that really work for me. Bit dodgy to fit, narrow fastening bit, but crank it up and don't look to closely!

I like the fact that the Renthals are so wide. I've always had Renthals on my AT (lower version) but now that I've got the standard bars I have trouble steering the bike as it feels like I can't get enough leverage through the bars because they're so close to my body and relatively narrow. The fact that the Renthals are so flat suits me fine as I find them more comfortable. It's also better off road when you're standing as the bars aren't so close to you which helps with balance. The reason why I'm so concerned about the height is because I'm a bit of a tall bugger but I find that the standard bars coupled with 25mm risers are the perfect height. Therefore having bars which are flatter and wider but at least as high as the Renthals would be perfect. Mmmm, what's that I smell? Coffee?

Unfortunately it looks like the Dakar High bars are not as high as the standard bars which leaves me where exactly? Wonder if I can get Renthal to make me a set to my exact specifications?
