    Getting the front wheel airborne

No not wheelies, just tyre swapping.

I apologise for the filthy garage and bike. No actually I don't

First the old paddock stand I found years ago. Found it when my brother wasn't guarding it. It's mine now see

Next the trolley jack with back up jerry can in case it all went tits up. Jerry can is a left over from the petrol crisis years ago.

The gleamy new tyre on the filthy old bike

I did take pics of the tyre change (not easy with only 2 hands) but I aint got the energy to download them yet. Maybe tomorrow.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

And trousers you don't want anymore. My tyre changing involves lots of knee use.

    Would these do?

Problem is now that I don't want these any longer I really want them - for when I'm working on the bike of course.

Would that be praying or begging?

Prayer is only required when breaking the bead on the rear tyre. Being somewhat of a non-believer, I prefer to rely on a wind down bead breaker!

The bike preservation method used by Yen is very effective - you could all learn a lot from him on this subject. I have his famous old bike now starting on its second fossilisation process - I hate cleaning too!

Hate to say it, but it looks like you have put on the front tire in the wrong direction.
The pattern should be in the opposite direction to drainage the water out to the sides of the tire when moving forward.
