    HOW DO YOU MOUNT YOURS

Hi, I've just fitted Oxford heatyed grips to a 2001 AT. The job was easy enough but now I can't find a decent place for the controller. If I put it on the bars the connectors are exposed to the elements and it looks crap. So, where do you mount yours?

I just filled the base of the controller box in with silicone and mounted it on the bars in the centre between the clamps usning a stronger zip-tie than the one supplied (it had gone brittle through being stored for long) - nice and neat and easy enough to get to /see/use.

I'm just wondering now if take the plunge and cut the leads down now - theres meters of the stuff and its all tied up in bunches along the bars.....

I might be able to get some pics of it - not until we get re-united at the weekend though....

I'm pretty sure Oxford say not to cut the length of the leads from the controller to the grips as they are resistive and form a part of the total load.

I mounted my controller on the right hand brake clamp by bending Oxfords supplied mounting bracket, I will post pics later on tonight, I just live with the miles of cables, some WD-40 or silicon grease in the connectors will protect them against the weather.

I just used a bit of double sided tape and stuck it to the side of the warning lamps fits spot on.

I like that idea. Were you able to tuck the connectors behind the dash?

Nice tip with the wires - cheers 'cos that could'a been quite embarrasing!

Russh - did yours come with that braket? Mine bloody well didint and if it had it would have been a lot better set-up, ho hum, never mind, I'm happy with mine on the bottom run of the bars in the middle so its staying there now.....

Unless I can find one of thoses there brackety things......
