Well, I've owned both and covered over 10,000 miles on both models so reckon I'd give my opinion.

The RD04 is a more offroad focussed bike, it has the better suspension set up adjustable front and rear damping. It also has more presence, more in common with the RD03, a real rally replica bike.

Both bikes ride much the same on road and there's not a lot between them. I found the RD04 was the quicker of the two and that's not just one individual bike, I've had a few!

My personal opinion, the RD04 is the Daddy!

My personal opinoin is for the RD07, because is newer, you can find a lot of aftermaket accessories (for example, Touratech make accessories only for the RD07), lower center of gravity, lower sit, more spare parts, because it was on the market for 10 years, and the air filter is located on the top of the tank, which is very OK if you drive in the sand.

But it is true that RD04 is better build. You can see that at the first look.

Over the years of asking opinions to other people which motorcycle is better to buy, I learned that you should buy the one, which you like most. Just listen to yourself, you probably know which one is the one for you.
