Re: Backlash in the BRIDGE COMP FORK TOP.

I have fitted mine but never tested them as the bike is still in full resto mode. But the goal of this design is to eliminate 100% any possible movement of the handle bar, whatever the conditions. The bushings are machined from Delrin and they are as stiff as aluminum. Basically, it is like solid mounting your handlebar. I initially thought I would make them from urethane, but changed my mind as urethane still has some compliance.

Some people will say that solid mounting the handlebar will allow vibrations to reach it. It is possible. But my BMW R1150GSA, which is know to vibrate quite a lot above 5,000rpm, has solid mounted handlebars, and it never bothered me.

I was fed-up with the handlebar getting crooked everytime the bike would drop as well as the lack of precision in twisties. Hopefully the problem is solved now, without introducing too much vibes.

    @ Chesper

When you install the handle bars, don't forget to reinstall the upper cup and the thick lower washer. They take up space and are needed.

Obvious. Looks to sit absolutely fantastic. Was a real ordeal to mount of the old, however.

Sounds nice. I'm getting pretty anoyed by the play in the handlebar. You don't have a set bushings left?

I am so glad the problem was solved. If you look at older big mono Hondas, the handle bars were mounted solid too. So, why fitting handlebar rubber bushings on a bike that runs even more smoothly than a big thumper? Well, that was my reasoning and it seems it works.

    Glad I was of help.

I have two or three sets left. $60.00cad + $13.00 shipping by Air without tracking
$60.00cad is my cost on these. Making small batches of precision parts is costly. I am sure I can lower my prices if I can have 100 sets made

That sure is costly Lee, but I can imagine it's expensive to make these kind of specific parts. I'll let you know, have to weigh the pro's and con's you know .
