Mosfet wiring, RD07a... green wires and black red

so installed my MOSFET... very straight forward.. and working perfectly..

but doing my few finishing touches, I noticed my indicators were not working.. ie.. not a puff of power to them.. front or back.. no click to the relay
checked all the normal stuff, fuse etc.. wiring..

but when I looked at the wiring before the MOSFET, there are two green wires, and 2 red/white wires in the circular connector, that dont seem to go anywhere after the install
checking the wiring diagram, the green wire from the lights goes in, and out of the old reg/rec.

i did find an older thread on how to fix this, but the image embedded in the post was removed..

another thread said to join the green, and connect to the negative of the mosfet, and join the red/whites and join to the positive.. I do see there is 12 volts on the red/white (without battery connection)

can somebody point me in the right direction, I cant seem to find it searching the web either

    so these are the leftovers.

and this is the wiring schematic I was following

according to roadcycle.. who makes the mosfet kits

" Also one other little tid bit, I have people ask me all the time that they have 2 red and 2 green wires coming out of the old R/R and what do I do? Some bikes have 2 wires because the Manufacturer needed bigger gauge wire and decided to double up the reds and blacks to carry more current. But if you read my directions you'll find we don't use them anyway in an upgrade kit. The old power plug gets taped off and ty-wrapped safely away"

so everyone else, just seems to tape that cylinder up and cable tie it away, so maybe I will have to look in other places for my indicator problem

That plug was how the battery was connected to the old reg rec, with the mosfet you connect directly to the battery so don,t need this plug but there will still be 12v there so be careful not to touch the red and green together accidentally and pop the main fuse. The indicators share the same fuse as rear light, meter light, horn and side lights

What 650 Fred said...check your fuse 'C' circuit 15amp "again" as you shorted something out. Horn working? Probably not if that fuse is blown. I simply capped that plug after installing my mosfet.

traced the 12v.. from the underside of the fusebox.. where there is 2 black wires on one side of the fuse (going to the headstock)
and a large gauge black/red which is coming from the battery / starter/ ignition side.

12v all the way to the indicator relay.. and no further... so thats knackered..

very strange. there must have been a power surge through the system when I was wiring it up... cause the fuel pump relay was knackered as well. and they were all working before hand

anyway.. new indicator relay in.. and all sorted..

Ian you could try opening up the old relays and cleaning the contact points to keep the relays as spare. Might work if the coils aren't burnt out? I think I have seen indicator relays fitted with the connections facing up, this can let water into them over time

    hey Jake..
it seems to have been replaced at some stage with a solid state sealed unit.. no way into this it seems

cant seem to find anything out about this relay from the name and code.. some results suggest a fuel pump relay from the CF318 bit.. but the code underneath is different

Yes that is the fuel cut off solid state relay, it cuts of the fuel pump if the bike is droped. If operating normally it will only switch on the fuel pump when you start the engine, if you start the engine you shoud have 12 volts to the pump or you can hold the side of the pump and you should feel it pulse occasionally to replenish fuel to the carbs .
