    headlights

When I put my headlights on I only get one headlight on dipped but both come on when Main is selected,is this normal as I thought both lo beams come on and both hi when selected...both new bulbs of the same type.

From memory you have an RD03 - yes?
in which case yes they should both come on, dip and main, check the connector onto the bulbs is secure both sides and fiddle with the Hi/Lo switch, if they come on when you fiddle with the red hi beam button then the contacts are worn which is a pain cos you end up stripping the switch down, losing the spring or the stupid little bits of copper wire that hold the Hi beam engaged and have to buy a new and incredibly expensive switch, don't ask Ok, you don't want to know

    Re: headlights

Its an rd04 and the electrician said it was normal and could,nt find anything wrong,I thought that there was 2 relays, one for lo and one for hi but the lecky said no there was only one,I thought I had found a defective red oblong one on the right hand side by the headlight but I have removed that and now only one lo but two hi,bulbs check out ok so I ll try some loose wiring checks....cheers

That means it is an import. European ones did that. UK ones had both lights on when dipped, so presumably you can change the wiring. Mine has both on all the time.

Is the RD07 different from the RD03 ?
My RD07 has the same set up as Kennymact. Is mine standard ?
