    TKC 80's, Where From?

Just spoke to busters as I'm after some of the above after reading the threads on here. I quoted the tyre sizes i got of here as being 90.90.21 F and 140.80.17 R.
The guy on the phone told me that they cannot supply TKC-80's for a 95 Africa Twin as the speed ratings on the front are 2 below spec (S as Opposed to H) and the speed rating on the rear they stock is 9 below spec (Q as oppsed to H)?

Can anyone shed some light on this and recomend a supplier?

    TIA

    Hi,

try tyresalesuk.co.uk, they have Conti TKC-80 in 90/90 21" and 130/80 17" and T rated,(118mph) which should still be OK for an Africa Twin ....I think

I've used them a few times, the tyres usually arrive in under 24 hours!

    Cheers russh,
looking at more posts on here it appears people have fitted the q rated 140/80/17's to their bikes. Is this the norm? Don't intend to be setting any land speed records so is the rating that critical?
I also like the idea of the 10% discount from busters using VARADERO10 if it still works

Here's a link to speed ratings of tyres, Q is 99mph, realistically I doubt you would be doing that very often

Don't be put off by overseas: delivery was not expensive. and Check € conversion to make sure its still saving you money, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

    Pigglet.

I ran Q rated rear TKC80's on my AT for a couple of years with no problems, but, I'm never near 99mph on the 'Twin anyway whatever the tyres. I don't think you can get the 140/80x17 size in any other rating now anyway so it's all pretty academic.

Thanks for the reassurance jim. I Couldn't find the 140's in any other rating so ordered them from busters this morning

Also ran with TKC's Q rated and never any problems, then again I hardly go over 40 mph Ok this one time I did push it to 115 on the speedo, big downhill and force 10 gale from behind and no probs
