Anyone know if it's still possible to get the plastic drive gear that runs in the speedo drive assy at the front wheel. My worm gear seems to have gone tight with the bike being stood and it's stripped the plastic gear.![]()

I got one from my Honda dealer, about 17 pounds. It may also be worth getting the bit that looks like a washer with a couple of tabs sticking out - this is the bit that drivers the plastic gear, and it's very cheap (about 2 quid I think), but if it's worn it can slip and damage the plastic gear.
The actual gearbox is hideously expensive...
flat out on utterly inappropriate tackle
Cheers,
I'll get them ordered.
My Honda dealer definitely got the nylon gear (and the tabbed washer thingy) as separate parts, though thinking about it, it was probably in 2004. I suppose these things can change but it's got to be worth trying, at least!
Though I see David Silver have an RD07 "speedimeter drive unit" for 45 pounds. Far more than the gear on it's own, but such a huge saving on the Honda price it could be worth considering, especially if you have a dodgy worm gear that could damage another nylon gear..?

What bike? Doesnt matter really. I recently got the complete assembly for my RD03 from Dave Silver although I know that will do just the worm.
I ordered the plastic gear last night so I assume they are still available![]()
