Setting the clock on my At - oh and hello, cause I'm new here

As the title suggests, first of all Hello to all.

    A bit of background.

Have just purchased my first Africa Twin, which is a 1999 and am really pleased with it.

It hasn't been off road yet but am planning on doing some light green laning.
I also ride a KTM 200, 2 stroke which is a different experience to say the least.

Could anyone tell me how to change the clock. After a lot of fiddling about with the buttons, I'm able to set and reset about 250 trip counters, can boil an egg and can even change the channel on next doors telly but still can't change the time.

Any advice would be gratfeully recieved.

    Thanks

    1. Press the MODE-TIME button. the mode indicator will display "CLOCK"

    2. Press and hold the ADJUST button, then immediately press and hold the RESET-TIME button for more than 1 second simultaneously. "Minutes" in the display will begin to blink.

    3. Press the UP/DOWN button to reset minutes.

    4. Press the ADJUST button. "Hours" in the display will begin to blink. (Pressing the ADJUST button will switch the display from minutes to hours and vice versa)

    5. Press the UP/DOWN button to reset hours.

    6. Press the RESET-TIME button. Voilą !

Ask the previous owner if he has the Owners Manual. Lots of usefull info
in there. They sometimes come up on ebay too. I photocopied mine from some Germans that were passing thru.
