    So Whats My @ Worth????????????/

Well it goes somthing like this....................I think i would like to do the UK Big Bike Challenge, but i dont want to use my lovely @ so i bought a Yammy XT Tenere to do it on. I entered the Red Kite Rally on it & managed to finish it ok. Only once dropping the bike when the back wheel dropped into a deep rut, but when i had to pick it up (with a full tank) it nearly gave me a hernia! All the while these 250's & 400's wizzing by me...........I go up & down through the bumpy bits & they FLY accross the top of them!
So here is the problem.................I have got to fund my addiction some how. I now have My two bikes (a vw camper, car & van to run)( wife & 2 kids). So what to do! cos i waited a long time to get my @ & LOVE IT TO BITS! but if i sold the two bikes i could get a decent CRF 250 & buy another @ next year

    SO WHATS IT WORTH???????????

I will take off the crash bars, Givi rack,& touring screen & sell them on ebay or offer them as an extra to the new buyer...............its a 1997 with 27000 miles on the clock & it starts first time & purrrss like a kiten.

    SO WHAT DA YA THINK????????????//

    Well, firstly, don't sell it!

I dallied with a GS1150 and everyone on the forum saved me.

Secondly if you do sell it, sell it complete with all bits. I always feel that trying to sell extra bits is a false economy.

If someone wants it, they'll know the value of your bits.

It will help sell it when someone's interested in it.

Post bigger pics and I'll show it to my brother

    Slightly off topic.........
You should'nt post pics showing your bike No plate. The bad people can then use it on a nicked bike or worse, trace your bike and pinch it

    Nice bike though

i bought My 1997 @ four years ago off flea bay.

She had a good motor but was cosmetically rough (now is all sorted) and i paid £1850

I looked at a GS 1150 two years ago and the dealership offerd me £2950.

(My 500th post!!! Go Go me!!!! )

Hey Micmak, well done on the rally, 1 drop is a real result, and no "stuck in the mud" occasions! Awesome. (Photos and report please ) I considered exactly what you are after a couple of years ago. Ended up staying where I was with the TA, and putting a lot less money into bits/spares etc. It's worth considering that rallies on a little enduro bike will feel a little tame after a big one, even clubman level enduros can be done on the big stuff if you're not over fussed about your result. That said, the CRF X is an awesome bit of kit, and can get run from local H+Hs to the Dakar!!!

Other option, you should be able to "swap" the XT for a little muddy bike, there are plenty around for ish£1000, couple of DRs in local bike shop, and check the back of TBM mag. Gas Gas EC200/250's seem to be ish£1200, which is a lot of rut hopping for the money!!

(Does get adictive though, don't it! I'm gonna try for the Tarenig, 6th May, on the TA, but ain't sure if I can get permission yet!! I have it for the CHEC on 20th May, but that should be a little bike thing (1994 TTR 250, value ish £900, keeps up with 05 KTMs etc when the going gets grim!))

Have a look for what they've been selling for on ebay.

You don't have to wait for current auctions to end: choose the "Completed listings" search option in the list of advanced search features on the left, and it will show you auctions that finished recently.

I'd guess something in the region of 2k.

There's also Parkers, but having compared that to prices people have got on ebay, I'd say Parkers is at least 10% if not 15% (or even more) low. A bike is worth what people will pay for it!

    FWIW: http://www.parkers.co.uk/motorbikes/used-prices
flat out on utterly inappropriate tackle

Thanks for the advice.........but .............there is a plan! if i sell lots of things (camper van) then i can get a nice 04 plate bike & upgrade to a bigger camper van & strap bikes on the back.......even when i go on holiday to france in it. & works going well so this time next year i will just buy another @ cos i love em. Ive been meaning to do some pics & stuff but the pics are'nt to exiting as you forget about doing foto's till your stood around & stood around foto's are'nt very exiting!
