    Side stand

    Hi all,

Time for a few more newbie questions.
The sidestand is a little loose. When fully extended it will move a couple of centimeters side to side (perpendicular to the plane of rotation).
I've checked the bolt and it's tight.
    Is this normal ?

    Cip,

    Cip,
It is the newness wearing out of it. Most bikes I've owned do that after they have gotten a few years old.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

The bike is only new for me, otherwise is 9 years old.
The question is, should I do something about it, or just ignore it ?

    I'd ignore it myself.

Might be worth taking the bolt out and check it has not stretched, but as Yen says probably ok to ignore it.
