    RD03 Back on the road

Finally, my bike is back on the road. Unfortunately it's almost too hot to ride here in the UAE now. It's a matter of short rides.
What I (actually my mechanic because I am too lazy) did to the bike:
    1. Stripped the bike to the frame and had it repainted. (Was suppose to be powercoated, but the shop tried to double the price at the last minute, and I said no.)
    2. Swapped the 400cc transalp engine out for an original 650 ordered from Ebay, Italy. Incidentally, I didn't have to replace the downpipes a natural switch.
    3. Replaced the Honda can with a Leovince for a 750 @.
    4. Put conical airfilters on.
    5. modified the CDI holder so they sat 1cm lower
    6. replaced the guage cluster (nothing worked) with a ACEWELL 3900 series.
    7. Put on a nice smoked screen. Looks good, but I'm not sure I like it as much as the homemade jobby I had on before.
    To do:
    a. will put TKC-80s on when I can find some. Currently still running the Metzler Enduro 4s (I loved em - but they lick in Sand)
    b. want to put on Modrover's lizard skins on the forks.
I'll try and post some pics.

This was before shipping to UAE. The lady is a mechanic in Korea (rare female mechanic) who was nice to look at too. She hopped up on the bikebecause she was shorter than the mirror.

650 already in. Slowly going back together.

Conical filters... so far no backfiring with the new exhaust. More pics later.

She didn't speak English, nor I Korean but that didn't stop me from stopping by the shop for a cup of coffee once in a while.

    Anyway, more photos.

New mechanics... not as good to look at, but good workers.

    Just took these.
I love the sound and look of the Leovince. I still have the baffle in. And, it's a fraction of the weight of the oldl can.

Have plans for an aluminum or fiberglass dashboard to go with the speedo/tach, a new temp guage, and a holder for my GPS and helmet cam. Will post those if/when that is made up. I like the system, it just has to be calibrated properly. The guys didn't quite get it right.
