    Does your AT live outside?

How well does it survive? Mine gets the benefit of a garage but I'm intruiged as to how they cope with the elements as the general concensus is tough but rust prone!

Mine lives outside, although I do cover it most of the time. It seems to be ok to me.

But if I had the chance, I'd love somewhere to store it. Ho-hum

My bikes are now all garaged. One early @ I had was left out uncovered for 3yrs and the only place that suffered was the fork legs (between the yokes) & the clock mounting frame. That was only surface rust which I caught just in time.A regular splash of WD40 did the trick.Rads horn and frame tube can suffer, but that's due more to general use.

Mine lives outside, under a huge Oxford cover. No probs and with the moving air, might even be better? Corrosion is nearly all salt related I run cold water over the bike after a salt day and again at weekends. Thankfully, only about 14 days of that this winter.
Like Soho says, lots of WD40 and, this autumn, I'll be stripping bodywork for the ACF50 treatment: http://www.flyingshop.com/proddetail...F-50%20Aerosol
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

Yep, outside. Wish I had a garage but there it is. @ lives under a giant blue tarp. Minor corrision here and there and the usual rust you get with an 8 year old bike that gets ridden every day.

Not sure the tarp is worth it anymore, these days. Riding 2 hours through bloody monsoons.

Mines outside though it does get to live indoors at work some nights if I pedal home rather then take the @ - mine is rusting all over the place, but i keep on top of it with a good wash regularly and loads of wd40 and grease where needed.........
