    What panniers are these?

    Hey Guys

Anyone know what brand these panniers and frame are?
I got them with my rd04 but don't really need them so was going to sell them, they have freeXXX on them but I can't find anything online about them.

One of the locks needs a small repaired as it comes apart if not locked but hopefully a locksmith can fix that, but incase they can't I'll need to find out what they are to see if I can get the bits.

I'll have to get them out to take some better pics but hopefully someone here may know what they are from the attached pics.

Cool, atleast it looks like I have a brand now in Gotz so I can see how I go.
I think the bike came out from Switzerland originally with the panniers so guessed they were from that neck of the woods.

BTW where are you in NZ, north or south island? I have a lot of work-mates in the north, mainly Taupo and New Plymouth/Taranaki, a couple from around Invercargill. Spent a couple of months there in 2000, drilling for Fletcher Challenge, magic place/scenery/people. Excellent rugby too!

    I'm near Christchurch, South Island.
I haven't done much up north but we have more than enough down south to keep the @ busy.

Hey dmc, hows the ankle/leg healing?

Hopefully with the chill you guys have been copping, you're still laid up indoors.

If you are going to sell your panniers, how much might you be thinking? And if so will you sell the mounting frames with them?

    Later mate

    Re: What panniers are these?

Yeah not bad, been out of the cast for 4 weeks now and getting to know the physio really well, have been fighting the urge to go out for a quick spin on the @ but the ankle isn't quite at that stage yet so being good and leaving it in the garage for now.

Yeah if I sell them I'll get rid of the lot panniers and frame, not sure what I'll sell them for as its abit of a hard one to gauge, going on what I know other guys have sold alloy panniers off other bikes for they should be worth decent money but there aren't alot of RD04 owners in NZ and I'm picking they wouldn't fit the RD07 rear subframe.

From what I've read it looks like there isnt alot of options for hard luggage frames for the RD04 new anymore so seems a shame to leave them in the garage if someone else wants some, I love the Rallye look anyway and will probably look at going down that path in time so the panniers and frame came off the first day I got it to make way for the PD Arrow and really doubt they will ever go back on.

Ok, well, shout when you might have an idea of price. I might be interested.

The rallye look would be cool, be sure to post pics if you start changing the old girl.

Hard to tell from the pics but I think that the latches look like Hepco and Bekker (sp?). As you've mentioned no one makes RD-04 panniers brackets any longer so you should get good money for them.

    Re: What panniers are these?

I was looking at the Gotz catalogue online and they do look like the same locks as the hepco's, I guess if Gotz have the freexXx brand they may well have been made under license for them.
