Can you fit this to the AT? Xander I'm sure you had something like this but I can't see the AT listed on the Throttlemeister site.
How useful do you find it? Oh and how much are they?

Stupid question probably, but why would you want to fit one to an AT?![]()

Hey mate.. I have a vista Throttle lock on.. and it is great!
I got mine from http://www.jaws-motorcycles.co.uk/bird2.htm
(scroll down...)
you have to make some mods for it to fit.. but I use mine to warm up the bike and it is great for when you are on that 150th mile any you really want to move you right hand for just a couple of minutes... I have had one on every bike i have owned for several years now.. I really do like em
it comes with two prongs that hug the throttle cables I simply cut one off to fit the shape of the AT and drilled a hole through the remaining plastic and zip tied it place, a few week later after i knew it was in the right place I epoxied it in. Other then that i had to move my heated grip out a bit and make sure that they did not interfere with each other.. (most time consuming part) but all in all total instillation 20 min at most...
Thank you kindly![]()
Ordered!
you wont regret it... just a few bits of advice.. after instillation. you can adjust the "grip" of the lock.. I have found that the best way is to set it so that when "locked on" the throttle will slip slowly back after about 45-60sec. this way if for some reason you do come off the engine will not race forever. and it is no issue when riding to turn up the throttle even with it locked.. If too tight.. it is too hard to pull the throttle back in an emergency, and also to hard to add more when going up hill or what not...
I often put it on lock and still keep my hand there is just to help with hand fatigue..
It is also great for pulling up next to some yob and using your right hand to give him several obscene gestures!!!
When using it to warm up.. what i do.. is start the bike with out the choke (if the air is not freezing i can do this easily) but it will not "say on" unless i play the throttle so I set the throttle at about 1200rpm (when dead cold) and you can just the engine getting smoother and smoother.. then the engine speeds up i turn the lock off this entire procedure takes less then 30 seconds.. then i warm up while stop and go riding.. works a treat and I can stay away from the dreaded choke as much as possible..
