    Fuel Consumption

Just done a trip over the last few days around Scotland on my @, covering 990 miles in 3 days. I travelled over all types of roads and at various speeds and found my average fuel consumption to be 52 mpg! This sounds very good to me, and would give me a range of approx 250 miles on a full tank of fuel.

Does anyone else here get this sort of range, because to be honest l was expecting a lot less mpg.

That's pretty good. I normally run onto reserve around the 210 - 220 mile mark.

Thats about spot on. I get that whether I'm having a rirht thrash around, or driving miss daisy...always the same. I fill up, do 200 miles and fill up, that way I never even get to go reserve.

    Re: Fuel Consumption

On a long motorway run at 80 - 90+, I get a lot less than that but sticking to sensible speeds I get that or better - even off road I seem to do pretty well but then I'm a gentle soul with the twisty thing on the handlebars
RD07a, reg in 2001, Black, heated grips, short screen, Scottoiler, Givi top box and panniers, DataTag, full Riky Cross crash bars, Baglux tank cover, Facet pump, mostly 200 miles to reserve and presently a lot happier since being loved up at Chad's hospital for sick ATs!

    Re: Fuel Consumption

I am in the same boat as Steve C.. solo riding below 70mph (no matter how) I go to 220-230 before refilling and never hit reserve, once i break the 5000rpm mark and hold it at 80+ for long periods I have to fill up at the 200 mark (still not on res though).
Two up no gear is roughly the same.

Two up full gear (touring luggage) I am dry at 190 (this is usually going 80+, for long stretches m roads hours on end). (39 mpg uk..ouch)

This trip to the Orkney'''''''''s I was getting about 11miles to the litre.. so that is roughly 48mpg..(I assume we are talking Uk gallon.) US Gal= 40mpg
