    Acerbis Handguard fitment ??

My neighbour has an AT, and just got a set of Ascerbis handguards,
Can anyone post a pic or two from different perspectives for him to look at on how they are fitted please ??

Secondly, do the bar-end weights get removed when fitting these handguards ??
And what effect if any will that have on handling ??

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Rian

I've got the Rally Pro brushbuards fitted to Renthal handlebars. As such, there aren't any handlebar end weights. The inner mounting points are the same. But the outers have expandable bolts that slot into the ends of the 'bars. With the OEM bars you could use the weight bolts and retain the weights. Not sure how much clearance you'd have with the inners then though.
It's not the age, it's the mileage...

You could, but it depends what you want the guards for - the weights and their mounts are not as strong as the Acerbis mounts, and they won't give the anti-rotation that the indexed Acerbis mounts do. That's fine if it's a cosmetic mod, not OK if you need the lever protection.

The weights are to reduce the frequency of bar vibration, not to make any handling difference. Removing them is a pain (I put a drift against the inside of the weight and hammered out the weight and it's mount), but the vibration without the weights doesn't seem so bad, and the extra protection of the Rally-Pro guards will be invaluable I think.
