Hi Dave and welcome, the AT is a fairly robust beast and 24,000 miles is not that much, check out the chain tension, it should be real loose, too tight and it snatches at the gearbox output shaft.
You will (sooner or later) want to change the seat for something with at least some comfort factor and the fuel pumps are notoriously unreliable (search the site for Facet Pump, then go buy one from the shop) otherwise just the usual check of head, wheel and swing arm bearings and nasty noises from the engine, but on a 2000 there shouldn't be much wrong, unless the previous is a complete plonker.

    Compared to what?

    That's nothing!

Also check to see how tight this owner has the chain tension set as too tight will destroy bearings.

Is it just me or does that sound a bit steep cost wise? 24000 miles isn't even run in yet.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

I think you could do better with the price.. I paid £2400, for a 2000 with 23000miles last year.. and it was in perfect shape.

Don't worry about the miles, that's only one decent holiday and a few weekends out per year! Price is a bit steep though, unless it's a total minter.
