Where to get a big tank?

I'm looking for a big tank for the AT, Touratech do a 43 litre version for an arm and two legs, which will do the job, but at vast expense.

    Anyone know of other options?

Boano do 36l tanks for €598 or €719 (currently about £402 and £483 respectively).

    Thanks guys

Boano do a 52 litre tank too! Now if it had the ability to keep the locking fuel cap I'd buy one. But they all seem to use the "racing style" insecure cap.

    Hmmm

Something like that yes.. although again that AQ tank doesn't have a locking fuel cap.

I'm off to Africa next year, and I want the extra range that a large tank will give me.

Boano, can dot he modification to retain your locking cap there was a couple that had it done at the HU meet, only thing you need to set up then is a breather tube..

Re: Where to get a big tank?

I know it;s been discussed before, but how often will you need to use the full capacity of a larger tank? I assume that 90% of the time you will only use half the capacity due to keeping the overall laden weight of the bike down and the other 10% only when you're unsure whether you can re-fuel within the next 200miles.

How about carrying an auxiliary tank for the rare occaison you'll need one - these from Kolpin seem to be a popular choice and easily mountable in a variety of places with their own bracket - and at around $60 a MUCH cheaper option
