    DID Chain - Wiki Info

    The Wiki states:

Quite often websites will specify the correct DID chain for the Africa Twin as being DID525VM or DID525VM2. These chains do not fit the original front sprocket without sometimes having to modify the rubbers on the sprockets.

This seems to be true - what chain, then, do I pick from this list?

    http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/cgi-bi...?cat=CH-RD-DID

The 525V standard O-Ring? Front sprocket at the moment is a JT with a DID525VM2 chain ordered as a kit last year, however I have a genuine Honda front sprocket on order and am buying the rear and chain seperately.

    Help!

Re: DID Chain - Wiki Info

As I said at the time, I believe that comment in the wiki is wrong.

I have a DID X-ring gold with an OEM front sprocket and have had for the last 18000 miles, without any problems at all. The rubber on the front sprocket is there to dampen the motion of the chain. In time it takes the shape of the chain.

I personally wouldn't modify the front sprocket at all, and I'd go for the chain of the same spec as the original.

    I agree Cie,
I have an OEM front sprocket, Supersprox Twinring rear and a Regina X-ring chain on mine. At first it makes a right racket until the rubbers mould to the chain.
