    Powder coating wheel rims

I'm sure there's been mention about this before on here, can't find where I've seen it now. Had sent my rims to be powder coated black last week and the guys have come back moaning about the fact that the wheels have spokes (although I repeatedly mentioned this to them) and have as a result bumped there prices up by x2. Could anyone point me in the right direction for a company that does this sort of thing (well!). Part of the problem I have is that I'm up in Scotland so appreciate that there would be transit cost involved on top of there quote (so will take this into account).

I've enclosed an image I took from the forum awhile back but can't find the link its from, if someone knows could you reply because I think the person made reference to where he got his ones done. Thanks again!

Central Wheels will powdercoat rims, hubs and re-lace with stainless or plated spokes, or any combination, you just need to get your wheels (or bits of wheels to them (Google for contact details and prices).

    Two words

    Candy Wheels!

    Check out their website http://www.candywheels.co.uk/wheels.html

NOT a personal recommendaation, as I've not used them YET, but intend to as soon as I have the rim I'm after, however, what I see on the website looks great.

    Re: Powder coating wheel rims

Nah, not yet - I'm looking at new wheels soon though - I've just had the rear re-spoked but its doing the usual @ thing and rotting from the inside-out so It'll have to go. I've got a nice 'Akront' rim to replace the front but its not as wide as I would like so dunno what to do really I'm just kinda hanging around the subject to see what you all get up to then I'll follow the crowd so to speak!.................

    Re: Powder coating wheel rims

    Ahhh.. an interesting subject this.
2 of my spokes on the front wheel are visibly loose.
Would this cause a "wobble" on the front end?
I only ask, because I've only had the bike for about 4 months and I'm purty sure that it was like this from day 1.

Getting back to the subject at hand.
I've an RD04 with gold rims, but they're looking rather naff - but, how would I know if they have wheel rot?
Also, where can I locate standard rims for the @?
The idea being that if my current gold rims are allright, to respoke them and see where they go from there.

I'm living in Ireland if that helps any...
